Eucalyptus – distilled from the leaves of the Eucalyptus Polybractea, more commonly referred to as Blue Mallee Eucalyptus. This powerful oil has long been revered for its ability to penetrate muscle tissue and bring rapid pain relief along with anti inflammatory effects.
Eucalyptus oil is a strong antiseptic and its expectorant properties are useful in bronchitis. It can also be used as a vapour bath or chest rub for asthma and other respiratory complaints. It is said to be useful for pyorrhoea and for burns, where it prevents infection, and it also eradicates lice and fleas. Externally, its antiseptic and deodorant qualities make it suitable for use on purulent wounds and ulcers. Diluted in sunflower oil, it can be applied to cold sores or used as a massage oil for painful joints. A cold extract made from the leaves is helpful for indigestion and for intermittent fever. In traditional Australian Aboriginal medicine the leaves are used in poultices for any type of wound and inflammation.
Tea Tree distilled from the leaves of the "Melaleuca Alternifolia: and often used for it’s anti bacterial properties, this form of traditionally Australian essential oil also has outstanding penetrating qualities, taking the active ingredients deep into the joint area to initiate pain relief.
The Australian Aborigines were the first to unearth the benefits of Tea Tree long ago when they began to harvest the leaves for their medicinal use. Tea Tree oil products are now increasingly sought after as extensive scientific studies over recent years have shown it to be effective against bacterial, viral and fungal organisms whilst being a powerful immuno-stimulant, increasing the body's ability to fight off illness or infection. Melaleuca Oil is also a parasiticide and used by many as a flea, headlouse and insect repellent. It can alleviate inflammation and may help wound healing by encouraging tissue regeneration.
